Whether I Need a Visa for China Tour

Most foreigners traveling the mainland China require a China visa. Transit passengers who hold flight tickets flying to a third country don’t need visas with no more than 24-hour stay. Passport holders of 51 countries including Australia, Canada, Germany, Singapore, United States, United Kingdom and etc can be granted a visa-free of up to 72 hours while in transit via Beijing Capital Airport, Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and other main cities’ airports.

How to Apply

Basic Documents Required

Original passport with at least two blank visa pages and valid for at least 6 months.
One completed, signed Visa Application Form for each passport with appropriate visa fee and any supporting information required.
Two passport-sized photos (head and shoulders only, front view, with a white background).

When all of the documents required are ready, you can submit the application at the appropriate visa office of China embassy/consulate-general, or Visa Application Center in your country. Generally speaking, it takes 4 working days for processing the application.

Visa Extension

The visa extension can be arranged at the local Public Security Bureau 7 days before the expiration date of the visa. You should provide some materials including valid passport and visa, a completed application form for visa extension and the reason for your extension.

Multiple entry visas cannot be extended.
