River Stops :

All trips ashore are escorted by a member of the ship's crew. But passengers who wish to make their own explorations are welcome to. In each place we stop for a minimum of one and a half hours. There is additional accommodation on board for licenced guides accompanying passengers that should be booked in advance.

Pakokku - is a typical Upper Burmese market town. We visit the large and bustling market, a cigar factory and hand weaving workshops. We make the tour by local trishaw which is a fun way of seeing the real life of this busy place.

Yandabo - this is a rarely visited small village with no road access to the world. Dependant on the riverine economy this village is famous for the production of terracotta pottery made from river bank mud. We see the pottery making process at various stages. We are invited into people's homes and visit the local monastery.

Sameikkon - is a larger village and a once important river trading post. There are splendid colonial-style merchant's houses and a interesting network of teak foot bridges. We visit the local school and see the children at their studies.
