Day 1 : Embark Mandalay (Gawein Jetty) at 1200, steam upstream and moor overnight at a jungle village north of Mandalay.
Day 2 : Upstream to a pot-making village near Kyauk-myaung; return downstream and moor at Mingun to view the pagoda and largest working bell in the world.
Day 3 : Visit ancient cities of Ava and Amarapura by coach, sampan and horsecart; after dinner ballet perfromance on deck.
Day 4 : Morning walk in the Sagaing Hills visiting Buddhist hermitages and stunning view points; evening village walk at Sameikkon to see old colonial houses, monastery and teak bridge.
Day 5 : Morning exploration of Yandabo village to see potteries and rural life; evening trishaw tour of Pakokku visiting the market, a cheroot factory and hand weaving workshops; after dinner puppet show on deck.
Day 6 : Arrive Pagan by 1000
