1. Mandalay RoyaL Palace
The Mandalay RoyaL Palace, or the Myan Nan San Kyaw was the first palace in Mandalay built by King Mindon. King Mindon moved his capital from Amarapura to Mandalay for the astronomical calculations and favorable omens. The whole palace was ruined by the air raid of the British forces against Japanese during World War II. And then it was been restored and renovated to the original structure according to the photographs and pictures.
The reconstruction of Royal Palace contains over 40 timber buildings built to resemble the 1850s originals. And there is a multi-layered pyramid above the main throne room and a minor culture museum exhibiting the exquisite, glass-pillared four-poster bed. Foreign visitors are required to access the palace from the east gate.
Opening Hours: Daily from 07:30-17:00
