Day 1 Yangon Arrival

Flight: International flight on your own arrangement or upon requests

Welcome to Yangon! Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to hotel for check-in. Have a good rest and expect the upcoming journey.

Day 2 Yangon - Putao - Shangaung

Flight: Domestic flight is on Indochina Tour's arrangement

Meals: B

Drive to the airport for onward flight to Putao in Kachin State. Upon arrival, Your local guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to Shangaung Village where the tribes of Lisu and Rawan live. After about one hour's drive on a rugged road, you arrive at the village. Check in the hotel and then enjoy your free time to explore.

Day 3 Shangaung - Wasandum - Trekking Start

Meals: B

In the early morning, head for the local market to get a touch of Kachin culture. Then start today’s trekking challenge to Wasandum Village. It takes about 6 hours and you will climb over Mount Shangaung with an elevation of 1362 meters.

You will first zigzag up the way up to the top of Mount Shangaung and then descend down to Wasandum Village that locates on the bank of Namlam River.

Day 4 Wasandum - Awadum - Kalang - Ziyadum

Meals: B

After breakfast, leave the village for Ziyadum, another beautiful village that is situated about 1500 meters above the sea level.

En route, you will first trek through a forest along the Namro creek to reach Awadum Village, where the Lisu tribes inhabit. After that, cross a suspension bridge that spans 4.8 km over the Namlang creek to Kalang Village. Stop here for lunch and then continue walking to Ziyadum Village lying on the bank of Ziya River. Over the river, you can see a wonderful sunset.

Day 5 Ziyadum - Chaungzone - Ziyadum

Meals: B

Today’s trek will take you to Chaungzone Village and then return back to Ziyadum.

To get to the Chaungzone Village, first cross the suspension bridge over Phangran creek and then trek through a dense forest. In Chaungzone Village, enjoy lunch and take your time to explore the tranquil village. In the afternoon, head back to the village of Ziyadum.

Day 6 Ziyadum - Kalang - Wasundum

Meals: B

Enjoy your final moments in the Ziyadum Village and walk around to observe the authentic way of mountain tribes life.

Then start the trek back to Kalang and Wasundum village. Have lunch in Kalang village and continue your trek to Wasundum village by crossing over suspension bridges at Awadum and passing through the lush evergreen forest. Arrive in Wasundum village in the afternoon and enjoy your free time here.

Day 7 Wasundum - Shangaung - Trekking End

Meals: B

Today, trek your way back to Shangaung village. The trek begins from a challenging uphill to the plateau of Mount Shangaung and then continuing rapidly downhill to the village of Shangaung. After the dinner, say goodbye with fellow group members including the leaders, porters, etc.

Day 8 Shanguang - Putao - Yangon

Flight: International flight on your own arrangement or upon requests

Meals: B

In the early morning, transfer to Putao and take the flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival, Your local guide and driver will pick you up and take you to enjoy a city discovery of Yangon.

Enjoy your free time to wander the Bogyoke Market. Then stroll around the busy streets of Yangon’s famous China Town and Yangon Jetty. Finally, end today’s tour with an amazing sunset view at Shwedagon Pagoda, the largest pagoda painted with real gold in Yangon.

Day 9 Yangon Departure

Flight: International flight on your own arrangement

Today transfer to the airport for your flight home.
