There is no better way to explore Bagan plain than taking a hot air balloon ride for the gorgeous sunrise over the ancient ruins. After breakfast, you can rent a bicycle to explore the fabulous pagodas and pedal to local villages for the authentic Burmese life. At sundown, enjoy a horse cart ride on the plain, which will be an unforgettable memory of your lifetime.

On the following day, this tour will take you to Mount Popa, the local holy mountain, to make a pilgrimage.

Day 1

Bagan Arrival

Flight: International flight on your own arrangement or upon requests

Note that there are no international flights to Bagan. Most travelers land in Yangon and then take a domestic flight from Yangon to Bagan.

Welcome to Bagan! Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to hotel for check-in. Have a good rest and expect the upcoming journey.

Day 2

Hot Air Balloon Ride over Bagan

Meals: B

Today, rise up early to enjoy an exciting morning hot air balloon ride over Bagan plain. You will be amazed by the thousands of Buddhist pagodas spread on the plain. Ordinarily, an average of 45 minutes of flight duration is expected. After landing, enjoy a glass or two of celebratory champagne.

Then you can rent a bike to explore the plain. Shwezigon Pagoda is the largest pagoda in Bagan painted with real gold. Dhammayan Gyi Temple is the largest of all the temples in Bagan. Ananda Temple houses four towering golden Buddhas facing the four opposing directions. Thatbyinnyu Pahto is a five-story brick monastery topped by a sikhara tower.

Have a rest at the hotel during the hottest time in the afternoon. Then it's time to enjoy a horse cart ride! You can climb up to the top of the Shwesandaw Pagoda for the sunset and then take the horse cart back to your hotel. It will be an unforgettable memory of taking the horse cart ride to travel through the pagodas when it is quiet in the dusk.

Day 3

Bagan Excursion to Mount Popa

Meals: B

In the morning, drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its golden shrines.

Situated 50 km southeast of Bagan, this solitary peak showcases the Popa Taungkalat shrine, the favored home of Myanmar's most powerful "Nats", the local spirits. These spirits were once so important to the country's early Kings that it was essential for them to consult the Nats before commencing their reign.

The shrine is located at the top of the mountain, and if you have the energy, climb to the top (well worth the climb!). Along the way, there are a multitude of monkeys expecting a treat!

On the way back, stop by a local village to learn about local culture and lifestyle. Then enjoy lunch at a hill resort. After that, visit a palm sugar workshop, where the harvested nectar from local trees is cooked into the sugar cubes that you see in tea shops.

Day 4

Bagan to Yangon, Departure

Flight: International flight on your own arrangement

Meals: B

Today you will first fly back to Yangon and then connect to your flight home.

It's Worth Every Penny!

Great communication from the start of booking. Incredible helpful communication.They arranged everything and answered questions. Met at airport with Driver and Guide that I spent 4days with them. Great Experience!

Well this was a year in the planning with lots of talks with my rep Helen, to start off was my trip to Vietnam Hanoi/hoi an and oh chi min city and everything was great all the guides at each city and the trips to boot the hotels was all as expected.
