Halong Bay Cruise: Ship, Service and Activities

Day 1 Arrive in Hanoi

Flight: International flight on your own arrangment or on requests.
Meals: Breakfast

Arrive in Hanoi. Upon arrival at Hanoi airport, you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and driver, then escort you to the hotel.

Check in hotel and relax.

Day 2 Hanoi City Highlights

Meals: Breakfast

8.00-8.30 We pick you up from your hotel take you to visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho – and President Ho Chi Minh’s stilted house where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969. You’ll also visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum where you can learn about this man and what he did for Vietnam.

9.30 You’ll visit the One Pillar Pagoda, which is actually a group of structures that collectively make up a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake.After that, you’ll have a chance to explore the Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shore of west lake. From there, it’s onto the Temple of Literature, which was Vietnam’s first university and is dedicated to Confucius.

12.30 Have lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter. Afterwards, you’ll visit Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart and soul of Hanoi. Last, you’ ll visit the Museum of Ethnology where Vietnam's ethnic minorities are on display. Return to your hotel for the evening.

Day 3 Transfer to Sapa

Meals: Breakfast

Leave in the morning to transfer by bus to Sapa. Arrive around 2PM-4PM. Our guide will greet you at the bus station and escort you to your hotel check in.

When visiting Sapa, you'll feel right at home at Sapa Lodge Hotel, which offers quality accommodation and great service. Day 4 Silver Waterfall and Heaven's Gate

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast in Taphin, stroll down an untouched trail through Red Dao of Ban Khoang village. Along the way, you'll have lunch. Around noon arrive at the main road and join the car awaiting you for transfer to Silver Waterfall. Take a short walk around the perimeter of the waterfall to see great views of the contiguous mountains and lush forests of Hoang Lien National Park. Many tree species are grown here such as plum and peach trees. Continue by car up to Heaven's Gate, from here you can see Fansipan mountain, referred to as “the roof of Indochina” with an altitude of 3143 meters.

Day 5 Muong Hum Sunday Market | Return to Hanoi

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, leave from Sapa, drive to Ban Xeo village. The bumpy road takes you off the main tourist trail and enables you to discover the unspoiled hill tribe culture. You are transferred to Muong Hum Market (opened on Sundays) - a small & traditional market situated among ethnic villages. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of Vietnam's remote areas. After the market, drive to Ha Nhi minority village, a picnic lunch will be served on the way at a beautiful location. Transfer back to Sapa after lunch. Then take a bus back to Hanoi around 2-4PM. Arrive in Hanoi in the evening(5-6 hours).

Day 6 Wonders of Ninh Binh

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

AM: Pick you up at your hotel and depart to Hoa Lu- Tam Coc at 8h00. On the way to Hoa Lu, you have good chances to view the landscapes along the road. Arrive in Ninh Binh province at 10.30, and then the guide takes you to visit Hoa Lu, the Ancient Royal capital of Vietnam.

PM: The guide takes you to a luxurious restaurant near Tam Coc for lunch. After lunch, take small boats to visit Tam Coc, which is literally known “three Caves”, First Cave is the longest one which is considered a real rainbow in the water in the morning time stretching on both sides of the Ngo Dong River. The quiet movements of the boats create a sort of musical rhythm inside the cave. As the boat leaves the cave, you can see what seems to be an old man with a white board fishing, fairy flying in the clouds, peasants collecting fuel and a group of white goats grazing on the hills. After that the guide takes you to the Second Cave and the Third Cave. At 5.00 back to Ha Noi. Arrive in Ha Noi at 19h00, finish tour.  

Day 7 Voyage on Halong Bay with Cruise by Paloma

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel for joint transfer to Halong Bay. Roughly around noon, you will arrive at the port and board on the ship. Begin sailing and pass through a magical bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons’ teeth. After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay dotted with golden sails, go swimmingon a quiet beach or sunbath on the sundeck. Later in the afternoon, you will visit an interesting fishing village with an opportunity to interact with locals who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. An optional Kayaking trip is available weather permitting. Back on board enjoy a lavish dinner. Overnight on board.

Day 8 Voyage on Halong Bay | Fly to Hue

Flight: domestic flight from Hanoi to Hue will be arranged by INT.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Wake up in the morning for a Tai Chi exerciseson the sun deck and continue cruising the bays. Breakfast buffet will be served in the restaurant, then you will visit the limestone grotto. Disembark in Halong City at noontime and transfer back to Hanoi.

Upon return, our guide will meet you and escort you to the airport for flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check in.

Day 9 Hue Highlights

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Departure at 8:00 AM (Pick up at your hotel around 7:30 AM by vehicle to join group tour)

Morning sight-seeing: Minh Mang Tomb, Khai Dinh Tomb, Performing Programs of Vo Kinh Van An, Tu Duc Tomb, Conical hat Making and Incense Making Village

Afternoon sight-seeing: after enjoying a Buffet Lunch with a choice of 50 traditional Hue foods, Asian and Western dishes, the tour will continue at 1:30PM to sightseeing at: Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda

Then you will get on a dragon boat to cruise the beautiful Perfume River back to the Hue town. On the way you can discover lovely views and splendid sunsets on the Perfume River. The boat will arrive at Toa Kham boat wharf around 4:30 PM. The tour ends and you will go back to your hotel on your own.

Day 10 Mountain Coastal Road Trip to Hoi An

Meals: Breakfast

Your tour guide will assist with checking you out of your hotel and then you'll be escorted by vehicle for a scenic ride along the mountain coasts of Vietnam. Start by riding through the mountains, valleys, countryside, and shorelines where you'll find numerous breath-taking scenes. Feel free to request your driver to stop for photos along the way. Then you'll continue to a summit where the clouds will meet you. In Chinese, the summit is referred to as “Where the Clouds Meet the Ocean”. After you cross the summit, you'll approach a steep and narrow descent where you'll find the scenery surreal. Along the way, there is a stretch of road which overlooks a beautiful bay with a small fishing village, perfect for a Facebook portrait.

As reach the base, you'll travel alongside the beaches of Danang where you'll see hundreds of traditional fishing boats scattered out along the water with beautiful mountains lining the horizon.

Then you'll approach Hoi An with beautiful countryside, hills, river views and seaside coasts. Your tour guide and driver will escort you to your hotel for check in.

Day 11 Hoi An Ancient Port Town

Meals: Breakfast

Today you'll explore My Son Holy Land, a UNESCO Heritage site and Vietnam's most important Cham site.

In the morning, transfer with the group to My Son Holy Land. Tucked in the mountains up winding roads with serene views lay the 1,100 year old My Son Holy Land ruins. The surrounding mountains are strictly forbidden from living or development. The ruins lay in a beautiful surrounding mountainous landscape. You'll enter the temples while the tour guide gives narrates the history and stories of the Cham and the site. Afterward, you'll watch an Apsara show nearby the site, passed through the Cham tradition. The show features live music and colorful costumes. Return to Hoi An around noon.

In the afternoon, your tour guide and driver will escort you from your hotel to Hoi An Ancient Town. This town features the 16th century Hoi An port town in it's preserved state. You'll start the day visiting the Museum of Trade Ceramics. This museum houses art and pottery dating from the 1,500s to the 1,700s.

Then you'll briefly visit the Chua Ong Pagoda, a temple from the 17th century which features China's influence in the region. You'll continue through the Ancient Town as the streets take on a magic of their own with old lanterns, French-style houses, intricately carved wooden doors and more. You'll take a stroll through the Old Tam Ky House to see it's imperial styles meshed with French overtures. Continue on to stroll along the river and see traditional boats and locals on bicycles passing by. You'll then approach the Japanese Covered Bridge. This bridge has connected the Chinese and Japanese sides of town over the waterway for centuries. The old wooden structure has shown amazing resilience for more than 400 years.

At dusk, enjoy walking along the riverside as old colorful lanterns light up the town. After you've finished the tour, your guide and driver will return you to your hotel.

Day 12 Fly to Saigon

Meals: Breakfast

Today, transfer by flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel for check in.

Day 13 Mekong Delta Discovery: Vinh Long

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Discover the Mekong River, essential to life in the heart of Vietnam.

At 7AM be picked up at your hotel and join the group to Vinh Long(2 hours). Here you'll embark on a boat cruise to the vibrant Cai Befloating market. Be prepared to see fresh spices, mints, and local fruits. Then go on a workshop to see rice paper production and the process of making coconut candy.

At noon, you'll have lunch at a riverside restaurant. Then take a boat trip to Vinh Long with a stop at the market. Cross My Thuan Bride, a project assisted by the Australian government. Return back to Saigon.

Day 14 Half Day Saigon Highlights

Flights:Flight from Danang to Saigon will be arranged by INT
Meals: Breakfast

02:15 PM The tour visits the War Remnants Museum -originally opened in September 1975, it displays old military equipment and other related items from Vietnam War. We continue to visit the Reunification Palace, formerly known as the Presidential Palace that was the sight of South Vietnam's surrender in April 1975. Walk down to see Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office which are beautiful examples of architecture from the French colonial period. The tour ends around 5:00PM

Day 15 Cu Chi Tunnels | Fly to Phnom Penh

Take your adventures underground today for an adventure in history you won't forget.

At 8AM depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels. You'll join the group to the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh. Discover these amazing systems developed by the guerrillas fighting in the Vietnam War.

You'll have an opportunity to see the various weapons used in the war on display. Then you'll be taken to see the innovative ways the guerrillas survived and fought back in the war. See how they built an impressive underground system as your tour guide tells of the stories and history of the Vietnam War.

You'll also have an opportunity to shoot the various guns used in the war at a firing range near the tunnels(extra charges apply).

Then you'll have the chance to see rice paper and coconut candy being made. After, you'll enjoy jasmine tea and a boiled cassava root snack that was a common food eaten by guerrillas during the war. You'll return back to Ho Chi Minh around 1:30PM

Today, you'll transfer by flight to Siem Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check in.

Day 16 Phnom Penh Highlights and Killing Fields

Meals: Breakfast,Lunch

Discover the highlights of Phnom Penh and the iconic landmarks.

After breakfast, your guide will greet you at the lobby and then escort you to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. The Killing Fields were a place of execution and burial of people considered a threat or enemy of the Khmer Rouge regime(1975-1979). You'll walk near the fields which have been excavated, and see the monument which now houses the skulls of the victims. You'll also see an old tree which is notable for it's eerie and death-like appearance.

You'll also watch a video where you'll learn about the tragedies that happened at this site. Next, you'll continue to Toul Sleng Genocide Museum. Prior to 1975 Toul Sleng was a high school. When Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975 they converted it into the S-21 prison.

In the afternoon, you'll continue to the National Museumwhere you will see the largest collection in the world of Khmer history, arts and architecture on display. You will also visit the Silver Pagoda, which has 5,000 silver tiles on the floor and then you'll visit the Royal Palacewhere the Khmer royal family lives. Finally you'll visit Wat Phnom. When the tour is finished, you'll be escorted to your hotel for the evening.

Day 17 Fly to Siem Reap

Flight: domestic flight from HCMC to Siem Reap will be arranged by INT.
Meals: Breakfast

Today, you'll transfer by flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for check in.

Day 18 Discover Angkor Temples

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, your private guide will escort you to discover the world’s wonder site of Angkor Wat. The magnificent temple was built in the 12th century and is the largest religious monument in the world. Then you'll continue to the ancient city of Angkor Thomwhich was the last and most enduring capital of the Khmer Empire. The tour in Angkor Thom will starts from the South Gate, then continue to Bayon Templewhere you will be greeted by 216 gigantic stone faces famed as the smile of Angkor. You will also visit the Terrace of the Elephants, the Royal Palaceand the Terrace of the Leper King.

In the afternoon, you'll have lunch at a restaurant near Angkor Wat. Then you'll continue the tour to an ancient Buddhist Monastery and University called Ta Prohm. Ta Prohm features trees growing out of the ruins with the jungle surrounding making it known as the Jungle Temple. After the tour, you'll return to your hotel for the evening to relax at your leisure.

Day 19 Excursion on the Tonle Sap Lake

Meals: Breakfast

In the morning, start with an ox cart ride through Cambodia's green countryside where you'll see many coconut trees, rice fields, and water buffalo. After that, continue the trip to the largest lake in Southeast Asia, the Tonle Sap. You'll take a boat ride to Kampong Phluck which means, Harbor of the Tusksdue to it's history in the elephant trade several centuries ago. You'll also see the mangrove forests nearby. After the tour, you'll return to your hotel to relax for rest of the day.

Day 20 Siem Reap Departure
