Accompanied by the knowledgeable guide, you will see the exhibitions in the museum and then pay a visit to Choueng Ek Memorial, a pagoda constructed out of over 8000 human skulls excavated from the Killing Fields.

Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham

After breakfast, transfer from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham, a city on the Mekong River in southeastern Cambodia.
On arrival, first head to the northwest of Kampong Cham to visit Wat Nokor, a Russian doll temple, with a relatively modern pagoda buried within the walls.
To the south, Koh Pen Island is reached via a long bamboo bridge. Just beyond town is Wat Nokor Bachey, where a modern pagoda is built on the site of an Angkorian temple. The hills of Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei have temples at the top.

Kampong Cham to Kratie

Today, you will head to Kratie, a tiny town that is the home to Irrawaddy dolphins. The drive from Kampong Cham to Kratie takes around 2 and a half hours.
After arrival, get some rest in the hotel and then start to cycle around Kratie. Head to Koh Trong, an island featured with authentic Cambodian rural life experience amidst green rice fields.

Irrawaddy Dolphin, Mekong River Kayaking

Rise up early for the sunrise over flooded forests of the mighty Mekong River. After breakfast, take a local ferry across the east bank of the Mekong River to reach Sandan. Your kayaking tour starts from here. Paddle across the river towards the west bank of the Mekong, then downstream through sand islands and the flooded forest.
Then, cross back and enjoy the unique perspective of seeing the rare Irrawaddy dolphins from your kayak, which is the best way to observe these rare mammals at their natural habitat.

Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat

Today, begin your exploration of the remains of Khmer Empire that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Angkor served as the seat of the empire.
In the morning, tour the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Huge silk-cotton trees and strangler figs grow over, around, and through the ancient stone blocks. The temple would make you feel as if you are in an adventure movie set.
Then, visit Banteay Kdei, a kind of smaller version of Ta Prohm. Continue to Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, Royal Palace, Baphuon Temple and Bayon Temple. Bayon sets itself apart with its 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed. With winding tunnels, chambers, and climbs, Bayon offers many exciting moments to keep your camera busy.
In the afternoon, head to visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Angkor Wat possesses some of the longest and most intricate stone carvings. Spend the afternoon fully exploring the passages, levels, and chambers that once housed many treasures of the flourishing kingdom.

Phnom Kulen National Park

Today, you will take an excursion to Phnom Kulen National Park. Drive out of the hassle city at 8:30 am, pass tranquil countryside, and finally arrive at Phnom Kulen, a beautiful national park that provides a great place to cool off and the stunning nature to see.
Phnom Kulen used to be the ancient capital city in 802AD after King Jayavarman II was initiated as the royal “God of the King”. Walk to visit Preah Ang Thom, a reclining giant Buddha statue. Continue to witness the historical site of 1000 linga carvings under the riverbed.
Also, head to see the secret pool where the white clear water come out of the ground all year round. Then go to the cool waterfall where you can refresh, bathe and swim. Near the waterfall, there are some local huts where you can stop to enjoy local lunch and have fresh coconut.
