1. Ban Xang Hai: a riverside village known for producing traditional Lao rice wine. Learn how it is made and sample a small amount if you wish.
2. Pak Ou Caves: two sacred riverside caves filled with thousands of Buddha images left by pilgrims over many generations.

Enjoy lunch near the caves and try or lam, a traditional dish from the Luang Prabang region.

After lunch, continue to:

1. Bear Rescue Centre: see rescued Asiatic black bears and learn about the work being done to protect them.

During the trek, visit:

1. Y Linh Ho Village: a Black Hmong community surrounded by mountain slopes and terraced fields.
2. Lao Chai Village: walk through the rice terraces and learn about the daily life of local Hmong families.
3. Ta Van Village: a village inhabited mainly by the Giay people, set in the peaceful Muong Hoa Valley.

Enjoy lunch during the trek. The walking distance and route can be adjusted according to the weather and your physical condition.

Mt. Fansipan Cable Car Ride; Back to Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel at around 8:30 am. You will then be transferred to Fansipan Cable Car Station.

Today, you will visit:

1. Fansipan Cable Car: ride the Guinness World Record-holding three-rope cable car and enjoy wide views of Muong Hoa Valley and the Hoang Lien Mountains.
2. Mount Fansipan: known as the Roof of Indochina, this is the highest mountain in Vietnam.
3. Great Amitabha Buddha Statue: an impressive 21.5-meter bronze Buddha statue set within the spiritual complex near the summit.

Take the cable car for about 15 minutes to the upper station. From there, climb around 600 stone steps to reach the summit of Mount Fansipan. At the top, enjoy the fresh mountain air and far-reaching views when the weather is clear.

After visiting Fansipan, return to Sapa and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, travel back to Hanoi by private vehicle. The drive takes around five hours.

Halong Bay Cruise (B, L, D)

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at around 8:00 am for the journey to Halong Bay. The drive normally takes about three hours.

Upon arrival at the cruise port, complete the check-in process at around 12:00 pm.

Welcome aboard your Halong Bay cruise. Enjoy a welcome drink and attend a short safety and itinerary briefing. Lunch will then be served as the cruise begins sailing through the bay.

In the afternoon, join activities such as cave sightseeing, kayaking or swimming. The exact program will depend on the selected cruise and local weather conditions.

You may also relax on deck or use the cruise’s optional spa and massage services. Depending on the cruise program, you can join a Vietnamese cooking demonstration.

Halong Bay Cruise; Hanoi Departure (B)

After breakfast, continue exploring the attractions included in your cruise program. At around 10:00 am, return to your cabin and prepare your luggage for check-out.

An early lunch will be served as the cruise sails back to the port. After disembarkation at around 11:30 am, your driver will meet you and transfer you to Hanoi Airport for your onward flight.

Indochina tour of Vietnam

Our group of six (three couples in our late 50s and early 60s) recently spent 22 amazing days touring Vietnam, and Bliss & Kea from Indochina Tours did a fantastic job organising every detail.

They helped us customise a 14-day itinerary into a 22-day holiday by adding extra time in Hanoi, Sa Pa, Hoi An, Da Nang and Saigon, giving us the perfect balance of guided touring and free time. We also included a two-night, 5-star Lan Ha Bay cruise, which was one of the highlights of the trip. The scenery was spectacular, the staff were wonderful, and the food was outstanding.

From the moment we arrived, everything ran like clockwork. Every airport, train station and hotel transfer was organised perfectly, with friendly, knowledgeable guides waiting for us at each destination. Having different local guides in each region gave us a real insight into the history, culture and daily life of Vietnam.

The hotels were all excellent, breakfast was included every morning, and several lunches were provided during the tour. We especially enjoyed the street food tour and pho breakfast in Hanoi.

Vietnam is an incredible country, and thanks to Bliss & Kea, we were able to relax and simply enjoy the experience without worrying about the logistics.

We highly recommend Bliss & Kea to anyone planning a trip to Vietnam. Their attention to detail, communication and organisation were first class, and they helped create a holiday we’ll never forget.

Experience Thailand without breaking the bank

This is our second time booking our Asia experience with Indochina. They provide exceptional service. From airport and hotel pickups, the comfortable transportation and the more than eager tour guide. The majority of the hotel were the 4 * that we wanted except the ones in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.

But because of the small village, we believe we received one of the best they could offer. The selection of restaurants to have lunch provided a local atmosphere conducive with living in the area. It provided a true Thailand experience. I will definitely continue to refer my clients and friends to Indochina tours.
