Debbie's 15-Day Tour to Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand
15 days, 3 countries, and a first trip that led Debbie back to us for a second journey.
Debbie and her husband came to us only about six weeks before departure. Their starting point was simple: plenty of history and information, some walking, a little swimming, and enough comfort to enjoy the trip without feeling like every day was the same.
Srey Pov first prepared a 12-day route. As Debbie looked more closely at the hotels and activities, the plan grew. They added an earlier night in Hanoi for their standby flights, more beach time, snorkeling, a villa with a plunge pool, and two nights in Bangkok with places they had not seen on their previous visit.
The final journey became 15 days across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. And in 2026, Debbie came back to us to plan a second trip, this time including China and other parts of Southeast Asia.

How Their Journey Came Together
Debbie’s first message was clear: she wanted history, walking and some time in the water. That gave Srey Pov the starting point for a Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand trip.
As the plan developed, Debbie asked for a more flexible Hanoi arrival, better beach time, snorkeling, a special room in Koh Samui and new Bangkok experiences instead of places they had already seen.
What Srey Pov Worked Around
- Planning only weeks before departure
- Standby flights and an uncertain arrival
- Beach quality, snorkeling and a pool villa
- New Bangkok experiences for a return visit
Debbie August 2025“We would love a trip with lots of history and information. Walking is good, some swimming, etc.”
I started with a 12-day idea, then adjusted the trip as Debbie’s priorities became clearer. We added an extra Hanoi night, more time in Bangkok, a Koh Samui villa with a plunge pool and an Ang Thong snorkeling day.
The final plan became 15 days, balancing history and guided touring with time to slow down by the beach.
Srey Pov Travel ExpertThe Journey They Finally Took
The final route moved through three countries, but it did not feel like the same kind of sightseeing every day. Hanoi brought food and city life, Halong Bay added an overnight cruise, Cambodia focused on Angkor and lake communities, and Koh Samui gave the couple a proper break before finishing with more history in Bangkok and Kanchanaburi.
Most touring was private, with local guides and drivers along the way. The Ang Thong National Marine Park speedboat day was a shared excursion.

Moments From Their Journey
No two parts of this trip felt quite the same. Debbie and her husband moved from Hanoi’s old streets to Halong Bay, Angkor, Koh Samui and finally the history of River Kwai. What tied it all together was the balance they had asked for from the beginning: history, local insight, time on the water and a few slower days in between.
HANOI · VIETNAM
Starting Slowly, Then Eating Their Way Through Hanoi
Because Debbie and her husband were flying standby, Srey Pov added an extra Hanoi night rather than packing sightseeing into the arrival day. Their first full day stayed relaxed until the evening, when a local guide took them into the Old Quarter for egg coffee, street food and a walk through the old streets.
The next day became more historical, with pagodas, the Temple of Literature and Train Street. It was a gentle way to begin a busy three-country trip: one day to settle in, then one day to properly get to know the city.
HALONG BAY · VIETNAM
A Night on the Water
After Hanoi, the pace changed completely. Debbie and her husband boarded an overnight cruise and spent the afternoon among the limestone islands of Lan Ha Bay, with time for swimming, relaxing on deck and a Vietnamese cooking demonstration before dinner.
The following morning offered another choice: paddle through the Dark and Bright Cave area by kayak or sit back in a bamboo boat rowed by a local. It brought the swimming and water time Debbie had asked for into the Vietnam part of the trip, not only the beach stay later in Thailand.
SIEM REAP · CAMBODIA
Among the Temples and Giant Roots of Angkor
This is the one moment Debbie shared in a personal photo after the trip: the two of them standing beneath the huge tree roots at Ta Prohm. Their full Angkor day also included Angkor Thom, Bayon and Angkor Wat, with a private guide explaining the history along the way.
That guide-led detail mattered to them. Debbie had asked for a trip with plenty of history and information, and later wrote that the guides gave them useful insight into what they were seeing and helped them learn much more from each place.
KOH SAMUI · THAILAND
The Beach Stay Debbie Took Time to Get Right
Koh Samui changed several times during planning. Debbie had read mixed comments about the beach and asked whether another island might be better. Srey Pov compared alternatives, but the couple eventually kept Koh Samui, upgraded to a Garden View Villa with a plunge pool and added a speedboat day to Ang Thong National Marine Park.
That day brought the water activities they wanted: snorkeling, kayaking, swimming and time on the beach. The following day was deliberately left free, giving them a proper pause before flying on to Bangkok.
KANCHANABURI · THAILAND
Bangkok Without Repeating Their First Visit
Debbie and her husband had already seen Bangkok’s Royal Palace, Floating Market and major temples on an earlier trip. So this time Srey Pov planned something different: Jim Thompson House, sunset at the Golden Mount, Chinatown street food and a full private history day outside the city.
That final day took them to Hellfire Pass, the war cemetery, the JEATH War Museum and the Bridge over the River Kwai. It brought the trip back to what Debbie had asked for from the beginning: history, context and guides who could help them understand what they were seeing.
What They Said After the Trip
“We had the most amazing tour!!”
“Sreypov, our Travel Consultant, help with the initial planning, tailoring the trip to exactly what we want.”
And Then Debbie Came Back
In 2026, Debbie contacted us again to plan a second journey. This time, the trip includes China and other destinations in Southeast Asia.
Her first trip had started with a last-minute enquiry. The next one started with something even more valuable: she already knew who she wanted to plan it with.

Would a Journey Like This Suit You?
This route suited Debbie and her husband because they wanted plenty of history and guided sightseeing, but also wanted good hotels, water activities and a few slower days.
It still moves quickly. If you prefer fewer flights or more beach time, we would slow the route down rather than squeeze more into the same 15 days.
A good fit if you...
- Have about two weeks
- Want culture plus beach time
- Enjoy history and local guides
- Prefer 5-star private travel
We’d adjust it if you...
- Want fewer flights
- Prefer a slower pace
- Want a longer beach stay
- Need easier walking days
