Today, after breakfast, your countryside Jeep tour will begin with pick-up from your accommodation at about 8:00 am. Your guide will give you a short introduction to the main highlights of the day.
First, you will visit the Siem Reap War Museum, the biggest war museum in Cambodia. It has a special collection of war machines, landmines, and rare photographs from Cambodia's wartime history. Some of the machines on display have even been used in real conflicts.
Then, continue to a Buddhist temple in a local village. Here, you can learn more about Cambodian Buddhist practice, receive a spiritual blessing from a monk, and listen to Khmer fortune-telling.
After that, take a walk through a quiet village. You will pass rice paddies, gardens, and ponds, and see how local farmers work in the fields. The drive through villages and dirt roads also gives you many good photo opportunities.
Next, visit the makers of bamboo rice cakes. You will learn how this local countryside snack is made, and you are welcome to taste it.
From here, continue to visit a local family who makes baskets by hand. You will spend some time learning about this traditional craft and trying simple handmade work yourself.
After the countryside Jeep tour, you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Siem Reap. You will have some time to rest before the afternoon tour.
In the afternoon, take a half-day excursion to Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. First, visit Kompong Phluk, one of the largest villages on the lake, and discover the daily life of local people who live close to the water.
Then, take a boat trip to enjoy the lake views and the mangrove forests. One of the highlights is watching the beautiful sunset over Tonle Sap Lake, with a beer and a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
After that, return to downtown Siem Reap. You will be escorted to the night market and Pub Street, where you can enjoy a relaxed evening.
After the tour, return to your hotel for a good rest.
