Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat

Today, begin your exploration of the remains of Khmer Empire that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Angkor served as the seat of the empire.

In the morning, tour the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Huge silk-cotton trees and strangler figs grow over, around, and through the ancient stone blocks. The temple would make you feel as if you are in an adventure movie set.

Then, visit Banteay Kdei, a kind of smaller version of Ta Prohm. Continue to Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, Royal Palace, Baphuon Temple and Bayon Temple. Bayon sets itself apart with its 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed. With winding tunnels, chambers, and climbs, Bayon offers many exciting moments to keep your camera busy.

In the afternoon, head to visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Angkor Wat possesses some of the longest and most intricate stone carvings. Spend the afternoon fully exploring the passages, levels, and chambers that once housed many treasures of the flourishing kingdom.

Phnom Kulen National Park

Today, you will take an excursion to Phnom Kulen National Park. Drive out of the hassle city at 8:30 am, pass tranquil countryside, and finally arrive at Phnom Kulen, a beautiful national park that provides a great place to cool off and the stunning nature to see.

Phnom Kulen used to be the ancient capital city in 802AD after King Jayavarman II was initiated as the royal “God of the King”. Walk to visit Preah Ang Thom, a reclining giant Buddha statue. Continue to witness the historical site of 1000 linga carvings under the riverbed.

Also, head to see the secret pool where the white clear water come out of the ground all year round. Then go to the cool waterfall where you can refresh, bathe and swim. Near the waterfall, there are some local huts where you can stop to enjoy local lunch and have fresh coconut.

In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to hotel.

Koh Ker Temples, Prasat Beng Mealea

Today, drive to the northern area of Siem Reap to visit the group of Koh Ker temples. Koh Ker was the capital of the Angkorian Empire from 928 to 944 CE. The main attractions you can expect here include Prasat Thom, a seven-tiered pyramid structure, Prasat Krahom, Prasat Bram, etc.

In the afternoon, visit Prasat Beng Mealea built in the 12th century. Although invaded by jungle, you can see the traces of Khmer Empire.

Banteay Srei, Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Phluk

In the morning, head towards the deep jungle to visit Banteay Srei. The temple is carved from red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to elaborate wall carvings, which are well preserved to this day.

After lunch, take a half day excursion to the biggest Southeast Asia’s largest fresh water lake - Tonle Sap Lake. You’ll take a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful lake views and mangrove forests. Then, tour Kompong Phluk, the largest village on the lake, to discover the fascinating daily lifestyle of the local people who live on the water.

Siem Reap to Battambang

In the morning, enjoy a boat trip to Battambang, a pretty riverside town featured with French elegance and tranquil surrounding. The streets and buildings are decorated with many statues of animals and divinities.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to Phnom Sampov, a limestone mountain and important religious site. After that, head to the Killing Caves. At about 6pm, thousands of bats pour out of a cave opening at the foot of the mountain. It’s a pretty incredible sight to see.

Battambang Bamboo Train, Wat Banan

Start the day with a ride on the improved Bamboo Train, a fun experience and also a great opportunity to see the countryside scenery. After that, visit the hilltop Wat Banan. It is the best-preserved of the Khmer temples in Battambang and offers the great views over the Sang Ke River.

In the afternoon, enjoy a half-day bike trip through the beautiful surrounding countryside of Battambang. Stop along the way to discover the local rural way of life, tour small cottage industries producing sticky rice, noodles, and fish paste.

After breakfast, drive from Battambang to Phnom Penh, taking you about 6 and half hours. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and get rest.

Start the day with a Tuk-tuk ride to visit the Silver Pagoda which is decorated with about 5000 silver tiles on the floor and the Royal Palace where the Khmer royal family lives. After that, tour the National Museum where you can see a large collection of Khmer history, arts and architecture.

In the afternoon, head straight to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum to delve into the sad past of Khmer people. Accompanied by the knowledgeable guide, you will see the exhibitions in the museum and then pay a visit to Choueng Ek Memorial, a pagoda constructed out of over 8000 human skulls excavated from the Killing Fields.

Mekong Island

In the morning, visit the Royal University of Fine Arts where the young Cambodians learn the ancient arts of their ancestors.

Then, take a boat trip along the Mekong River to Koh Dach(Mekong Island) a great place to see beautiful countryside and farmlands.

The island is dubbed as the Cambodia’s silk weaving center. You can try to weave silk or buy some silk fabric directly from producers. Except for silk, the island is also known for its fresh crops and fruit products like beans, corn, bananas and sesame.

After that, aboard a boat back to Phnom Penh and catch a sunset cruise down the Mekong River.

Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham

After breakfast, transfer from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham, a city on the Mekong River in southeastern Cambodia.

On arrival, first head to the northwest of Kampong Cham to visit Wat Nokor, a Russian doll temple, with a relatively modern pagoda buried within the walls.

To the south, Koh Pen Island is reached via a long bamboo bridge. Just beyond town is Wat Nokor Bachey, where a modern pagoda is built on the site of an Angkorian temple. The hills of Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei have temples at the top.

Kampong Cham to Kratie

Today, you will head to Kratie, a tiny town that is the home to Irrawaddy dolphins. The drive from Kampong Cham to Kratie takes around 2 and a half hours.

After arrival, get some rest in the hotel and then start to cycle around Kratie. Head to Koh Trong, an island featured with authentic Cambodian rural life experience amidst green rice fields.

Irrawaddy Dolphin, Mekong River Kayaking

Rise up early for the sunrise over flooded forests of the mighty Mekong River. After breakfast, take a local ferry across the east bank of the Mekong River to reach Sandan. Your kayaking tour starts from here. Paddle across the river towards the west bank of the Mekong, then downstream through sand islands and the flooded forest.

Then, cross back and enjoy the unique perspective of seeing the rare Irrawaddy dolphins from your kayak, which is the best way to observe these rare mammals at their natural habitat.

On the way back to Kratie town, pay a visit to Phnom Sombok, famous for its beautiful location amidst two mountain peaks offering scenic views of the Mekong river.

Cruise to Koh Rong Samloem Island

Today's trip will take you to enjoy a cruise to Koh Rong Samloem, a pearl in Cambodia which is surrounded by turquoise blue water. On the cruise, equipment is provided for snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, etc., to promise you the best experience.

En route, you will get the opportunity to go swimming and snorkeling. And upon arrival at the island, you can enjoy a sunbath on the white sandy beach, or go for an exploration of mangroves and bird sanctuaries.

At the end of the day, cruise back to Sihanoukville.

Today, spend your time exploring Sihanoukville, sitting on a peninsula jutting into the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Beaches of fine pearl-white sand line the shore around the peninsula, each offering its own unique character from the busy Ochheuteal Beach to the secluded chill-out Otres Beach.

You can walk leisurely on the beach, swim in the warm sea, taste fresh seafood, watch the beautiful sunset over the sea, or enjoy a party scene in the evening.
