6 Days Authentic North Vietnam from Hanoi Tour

Welcome to Hanoi!

Upon arrival, our tour guide and driver will welcome you at the airport. You will be escorted to the hotel and check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure for recovery.

Note: if your arrival time is early, and you prefer to explore the city instead of taking a nap, please kindly tell our travel consultant, and we’ll recommend one of our suggested activities like enjoying the Hanoi food tour by motorbike at night, or having a half-day cooking class, or walking around the Hanoi food street.

Enjoy your breakfast. In the morning at 8:00-8:30, you will be met by our tour guide at your hotel, and start to explore the city of Hanoi. The morning’s activities include:

1. Tran Quoc Pagoda: located on the shores of West Lake, this pagoda is full of amazing Buddhist symbolism, a must-see for any of Hanoi city tour.
2. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum: one of the most famous works in Vietnam. With great cultural and historical value, it will expand your understanding of the country.
3. One Pillar Pagoda: Hanoi’s iconic landmark not to be missed, famous for its extraordinary architecture. This Pagoda is not only a famous tourist attraction but also a religious stop for local pilgrims.
4. Temple of Literature: one of the top historical attractions in Hanoi, is the first university in Vietnam. The temple represents Vietnamese ancient architecture and traditional fondness for learning.

End of the sightseeing, you will have lunch at an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, then take a rest.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy the following activities:

1. Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple: famous for its peaceful beauty, cultural as well as historical values.
2. Taking a traditional cyclo tour through the Old Quarter: the fascinating experience of rickshaws driving around the Old Quarter and experience the daily life of the local.
3. Savor the best street food in the world: Never miss out the Vietnam food

Enjoying local Vietnamese dinner, you will be escorted to watch a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theater. The show lasts 50 minutes. It’s a unique Vietnam performance to display the daily life in Northern Vietnam villages.

After the show ends, you’ll transferred to the hotel and the reast of the day is at your own leisure time.

This morning, you will travel from Hanoi to Mai Chau, which is known for a pretty valley with a patchwork quilt of rice paddies, farms, and longhouses. This area is home to many hill tribes, including Muong and Thai ethnic minorities. The morning drive includes a tour in two spots.

1. Muong Village: One of Vietnam's oldest ethnic groups with a great history, and you will get to know about their daily lives.
2. Thung Khe Pass: The breathtaking mountain crossing offers panoramic views and provides an unforgettable photo opportunity due to the colorful landscape and mist-covered hills.

In the afternoon, enjoy the beautiful countryside tour.

1. Mai Chau Valley: A place of local farming, terraced rice paddies for trekking, and bamboo forests, it offered a peaceful atmosphere with stunning views.
2. Pom Coong Village: Meet the villagers, and they will show you the culture, lifestyle, traditional stilt homes, and vibrant handmade crafts.
3. Na Phon Village: a great place to see the traditional architecture, daily life activities, and handicrafts.

In the evening, you will return to the hotel; the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Start your day at Mai Chau after your delightful breakfast. Your guide and driver will help you check out at the hotel. En route to the pristine natural beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The drive would take about 2 hours across a remarkable mountain pass that offers panoramic views of the entire valley.

Upon arrival in Pu Luong, stop for lunch at a local Vietnamese restaurant, and then you will transfer to the hotel for check-in and have a short rest.

In the afternoon, your guide will pick you up to start a half-day trip:

1. Cham River Suspension Bridge & Water Wheels: Get a chance to see the people's creative, handcrafted structures that are used by locals to move water from the river into bamboo waterways for water supply. Begin with a short walk across a suspension bridge to a fabulous region filled with bamboo water wheels.
2. Local Fisherman: Take some time to relax by the riverside, capture photos, and enjoy a brief break while observing the daily lives of the local people near the water.
3. Bamboo Rafting on the Cham River: Try an exciting bamboo rafting adventure with a fully skilled local boatman. You will learn how to paddle and steer your raft while admiring the serene river landscape and lush surroundings.

After the tour, you will transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is to relax and enjoy Pu Luong's pleasant atmosphere.

Today, you will trek into the central part of Pu Luong Valley. You will arrive near a hidden community in a limestone mountain through winding, vegetation-lined paths. Be sure to bring along the camera, as there is incredible fresh natural beauty at every corner. The scenery is just stunning.

Continue trekking through a diverse and ever-changing landscape of farmland, forest, mountain paths, local villages, ponds, and rivers. This journey offers an immersive experience of the rural charm and natural beauty of Pu Luong.

After your morning adventure, you will return to your accommodation for a well-deserved lunch and a chance to freshen up before departure to Ninh Binh, which is a region famed for its limestone karsts, winding rivers, and rice paddies that are often called “Halong Bay on land.” The journey takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours.

Upon arrival in Ninh Binh, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Trang An to begin your perfect day in one of Vietnam’s most beautiful natural wonders, known for Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Start your tour by riding a boat in Trang An. Enjoy a quiet boat ride along Trang An's emerald-green waterways. This adventure is the best place to offer such things as the towering limestone karsts, lush forests, flowing rivers, and hidden caves similar to a fairy tale.

Then, discover the remarkable cover of 11 caves, each covered with stalagmites or stalactites of various shapes, sizes, and colors. The experience is peaceful and breathtaking; the caves are interconnected by serene rivers. After your exciting boat trip, enjoy lunch at a local Vietnamese restaurant.

Next, you will depart Ninh Binh and travel back to Hanoi, arriving in the late afternoon. The drive from Ninh Binh would take around 2.5 hours to arrive in Hanoi.

Arriving in Hanoi, you will drop off at your hotel or Hanoi Airport. Your driver will follow your plan, and it will be easy for you to get to your next destination.
