Today, begin your exploration of the remains of Khmer Empire that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Angkor served as the seat of the empire.
In the morning, tour the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Huge silk-cotton trees and strangler figs grow over, around, and through the ancient stone blocks. The temple would make you feel as if you are in an adventure movie set.
Then, visit Banteay Kdei, a kind of smaller version of Ta Prohm. Continue to Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, Royal Palace, Baphuon Temple and Bayon Temple. Bayon sets itself apart with its 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed. With winding tunnels, chambers, and climbs, Bayon offers many exciting moments to keep your camera busy.
In the afternoon, head to visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Angkor Wat possesses some of the longest and most intricate stone carvings. Spend the afternoon fully exploring the passages, levels, and chambers that once housed many treasures of the flourishing kingdom.

Today, go to visit the Phnom Kulen Mountain. Along the way you will see beautiful scenery including rice paddies and rural Cambodian villages where you can observe the locals in their daily lives.On arrival at Kulen Mountain you will begin to climb up the path through jungle. Your guide will stop along the way to point out the many points of interest, including the ancient ruins of temples including the famous Linga river carvings, or a Pagoda on the mountain, before getting to chill in the waterfall and swim in the pools, while contemplating the crucial moment in history that this place is connected to.
Phnom Kulen is considered a holy mountain in Cambodia, of special religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists who come to the mountain in pilgrimage. It also has a major symbolic importance for Cambodians as the birthplace of the ancient Khmer Empire, for it was at Phnom Kulen that King Jayavarman II proclaimed independence from Java in 804 CE. He initiated the Devaraja cult of the king, a linga cult, in what is dated as 804 CE and declaring his independence from Java of whom the Khmer had been a vassalage state (whether this is actually "Java", the Khmer chvea used to describe Champa, or "Lava" (a Lao kingdom) is debated, as well as the legend that he was earlier held as a ransom of the kingdom in Java.
During the Angkorian era the relief was known as Mahendraparvata (the mountain of Great Indra). The Khmer Rouge used the location as a final stronghold as their regime came to an end in 1979. After you have experienced the historical beauty of Kulen you will stop for lunch and drinks before returning to Siem Reap.

In the morning, your guide and driver will pick up at your hotel, start the tour to beautiful Tran Quoc Pagoda located on the shores of West Lake. This Pagoda is full of amazing Buddhist symbolism that visitors can learn more about.
Then, head to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnamese great father, President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, where he lived on and off from 1958 to 1969.
The next destination is One Pillar Pagoda, a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake. Leave the pagoda for the Temple of Literature, which is the first college of Vietnam.
In the afternoon, you need to choose one of the city’s museums (History Museum or Ethnology Museum) to visit. After that, drive back to admire Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple before taking cyclo tour through the Old Quarter, also known as the 36 streets, this bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It’s a great place to explore in Hanoi.

Today's tour starts with a visit to the Perfume River, renowned for its natural scenery and numerous flowers which envelop its shores. Along the river, you'll view Vietnamese daily life up close. Take a boat ride along the river to the Tomb of Minh Mang, featuring gardens, many steps, and beautiful decorations.
Move on to visit Tu Doc, a complex with the private royal residence and a tomb that also houses the body of one of the wealthiest emperors in Vietnam. Legend has it that his body is buried with vast treasures in an inconspicuous place, which archaeologists have tried but failed to find. Visit the Khai Dinh Tomb, a more modern ornately decorated tomb.
Next, you are able to explore the Imperial City of Hue. With an area of 500ha and a system of three circles of ramparts, namely from outside to inside: Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel) and Khai Dinh Tomb, Hue Citadel is the result of the intermingling of many architectural trends: European and Asian, as well as ancient and modern.

In the afternoon, continue on to the Ancient Capital of Hoi An, which features the 16th-century port town in its preserved state. The town is a perfect mixture of ancient architecture, houses, and temples as well as modern western restaurants and cafes. The historic sites you will visit are the Japanese Bridge, a renowned Chinese Temple, and former Vietnamese merchants' houses.

This morning, transfer to remote My Tho. This burgeoning capital rests in the Mekong Delta and is surrounded by beautiful countryside known as the "rice basket of Vietnam".
Firstly, head to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, decorated with mosaics made from broken pottery. Overlooked by a tall white Buddha, it is set amongst lovely gardens overflowing with flowers, shrubs, lotus pools, and tombs, and ornate gates that provide entry.
Continue on a boat ride along the river to view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages.
After lunch, visit An Khanh, a small village that specializes in fruit orchards and coconut sweets. If time permits, you can take a short cycling trip through the island or explore the island on foot (the island is flat and relatively small).

Our group of six (three couples in our late 50s and early 60s) recently spent 22 amazing days touring Vietnam, and Bliss & Kea from Indochina Tours did a fantastic job organising every detail.
They helped us customise a 14-day itinerary into a 22-day holiday by adding extra time in Hanoi, Sa Pa, Hoi An, Da Nang and Saigon, giving us the perfect balance of guided touring and free time. We also included a two-night, 5-star Lan Ha Bay cruise, which was one of the highlights of the trip. The scenery was spectacular, the staff were wonderful, and the food was outstanding.
From the moment we arrived, everything ran like clockwork. Every airport, train station and hotel transfer was organised perfectly, with friendly, knowledgeable guides waiting for us at each destination. Having different local guides in each region gave us a real insight into the history, culture and daily life of Vietnam.

What a fantastic trip from pre-start to finish! I emailed the tour operator and tailored the trip itinerary to match my dates (extended a day) and interests. They also helped find ways to lower the cost (no guide came to the airport for example).

This is our second time booking our Asia experience with Indochina. They provide exceptional service. From airport and hotel pickups, the comfortable transportation and the more than eager tour guide. The majority of the hotel were the 4 * that we wanted except the ones in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
But because of the small village, we believe we received one of the best they could offer. The selection of restaurants to have lunch provided a local atmosphere conducive with living in the area. It provided a true Thailand experience. I will definitely continue to refer my clients and friends to Indochina tours.

The atmosphere in the old town areas throughout Vietnam are brilliant for just wandering. We travelled in June where crowds were very small apart from Ho Chi Min city and Ba Na Hills.

We did not book a private tour, but we ended up having mostly private guides in each city - there were only a few excursions where we joined a small group (Bangkok floating market & Hanoi overnight cruise to Ha Long Bay).

The entire holiday was wonderful and exceeded our expectations.
All hotels were clean, spacious, and well serviced, with excellent amenities. The staff were excellent.
All of our guides spoke excellent English, were welcoming and professional, knew the history and stories of their respective countries, were helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us.
The highlight of the tour was the Shampoo River Cruise in Laos.

The 27-day tour was amazing, and we really enjoyed it.
We were pleased with the availability of Kea on WhatsApp, and she was always prompt to respond to any queries we had.
Our highlights were Northern Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangkok.
We had not done a private tour before, and having local guides gave us great insight into the culture, history, and daily life of each area.
We loved many of the guides, especially Thai in Hanoi, Vang in Sapa, Tommy in Halong Bay, Tok in Phnom Penh, Pasquale in Siem Reap, and Ket in Bangkok.

Each hotel was magnificent. The tour guides, drivers, and transfers were all excellent.
The best tour guide was Phuong in Ho Chi Minh City, such a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He even sent me a WhatsApp message asking if we had arrived home safely.
The Four Seasons Chiang Mai and Metropole Hanoi hotels were very special.
In the future, I am interested in visiting Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Borneo.

It was nice that you knew we preferred historic sites instead of noisy, crowded cities.
The guides we had in Vietnam were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
We especially enjoyed getting to know Ay in Sapa. She was so much fun. The guides also helped take pictures for us, which we really appreciated.

The trip to Siem Reap was great, and so were the other places.
Luang Prabang was also great, and many things at Villa Maly Boutique were wonderful. The service was definitely one of them.
Vientiane was also great. The room was lovely, and Vientiane was a lovely city.
All the guides were amazing. They were very helpful, knowledgeable, happy to meet us at different hotels with a smile, and always on time.
They often took us to places when something else was not possible, which we really appreciated.
