Welcome to Hanoi!
Upon arrival, our tour guide and driver will welcome you at the airport. You will be escorted to the hotel and check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure for recovery.
Note: if your arrival time is early, and you prefer to explore the city instead of taking a nap, please kindly tell our travel consultant, and we’ll recommend one of our suggested activities like enjoying the Hanoi food tour by motorbike at night, or having a half-day cooking class, or walking around the Hanoi food street.

Enjoy your breakfast. In the morning at 8:00-8:30, you will be met by our tour guide at your hotel, and start to explore the city of Hanoi. The morning’s activities include:
1. Tran Quoc Pagoda: located on the shores of West Lake, this pagoda is full of amazing Buddhist symbolism, a must-see for any of Hanoi city tour.
2. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum: one of the most famous works in Vietnam. With great cultural and historical value, it will expand your understanding of the country.
3. One Pillar Pagoda: Hanoi’s iconic landmark not to be missed, famous for its extraordinary architecture. This Pagoda is not only a famous tourist attraction but also a religious stop for local pilgrims.
4. Temple of Literature: one of the top historical attractions in Hanoi, is the first university in Vietnam. The temple represents Vietnamese ancient architecture and traditional fondness for learning.
End of the sightseeing, you will have lunch at an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, then take a rest.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy the following activities:
1. Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple: famous for its peaceful beauty, cultural as well as historical values.
2. Taking a traditional cyclo tour through the Old Quarter: the fascinating experience of rickshaws driving around the Old Quarter and experience the daily life of the local.
3. Savor the best street food in the world: Never miss out the Vietnam food
Enjoying local Vietnamese dinner, you will be escorted to watch a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theater. The show lasts 50 minutes. It’s a unique Vietnam performance to display the daily life in Northern Vietnam villages.
After the show ends, you’ll transferred to the hotel and the reast of the day is at your own leisure time.

After breakfast, travel from Hanoi to Ba Be Lake will take around 5 hours’ drive to arrive at the destination. The route crosses through rural areas and traditional villages of Vietnam, providing an overview of local daily life in the northern countryside. And you will arrive in the Ba Be National Park for check-in and a short rest. After that, your guide will transfer you to have lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch and a short rest, your afternoon is filled with gentle adventure and nature.
1. Hua Ma Cave: Ride a bicycle to visit the impressive cave that is known for its breathtaking stalactites and peaceful surroundings.
2. Village Hike: Take a gentle walk to see river life, rice paddies, and scenes of rural life through local Tay and Hmong communities.
3. Riverbank Trails: Follow the small paths surrounded by bamboo groves and farmland along the water’s edge.
Return to the hotel in the evening. Enjoy your free time at Ba Be Lake.

After breakfast, you will have a morning trek through Ba Be National Park, one of Vietnam's hidden beauties. The trail winds through dense jungle and huge clearings, revealing limestone peaks and comfortable valleys. Along the way, you'll meet members of the Tay community, who live on bases beside rivers and rice fields, surrounded by natural rock formations.
After lunch, continue your journey through more remote areas such as:
1. Hmong Villages: Cross into higher ground to see the colorful dress and traditional lifestyle of Hmong people and to see their daily life.
2. Red Dao Communities: Hike beyond into the hills to find communities of the Red Dao, a further mountain community with rich customs and crafting skills.
3. Valleys and Farmland: The trail provides panoramic views of terraced rice fields, dense jungle, and amazing ridgelines rising over the surrounding countryside.
In the evening, return to the hotel for the rest of the day at your leisure.

This morning, walk to Po Lu Quay, where you will join a private boat for a trip around Ba Be Lake. The boat will make stops in very small villages, giving you the opportunity to climb into the upper lake region, which provides breathtaking scenery and relaxing activities. You may admire the biodiversity or try swimming in the lake for a recharge.
After the boat tour, return to Hanoi, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant on the way. The drive from Ba Be Lake to Hanoi at 230 km will take roughly 6 hours.
Arriving in Hanoi, you will drop off at your hotel or Hanoi Airport; we will be following your plan, making it easy to get to your next destination.

Our 18-day private tour for two couples through Thailand and Siem Reap/Cambodia was nothing short of epic. From the initial planning with clear, responsive communication, we knew we were in expert hands.

My wife and I were in Burma November 15-19 and we travelled around the city of Yangon to see the fabulous Schwedagon Pagoda and the old colonial buildings. We flew from Yangon to Mandalay the next morning to catch a glimpse of the many pagodas that dotted this former capital.
Our very gracious tour guides Winthu and Sithu were just an example of how to be a good host.they made sure to provide everything that we need.and they both know their country’s History and culture as well.local food is delicious.places that we’ve been through are safe.thank you Indochine Tours for arranging our tour in Burma.
Our trip was faultless. Every aeroplane, train and boat were on time as were all our guides and drivers.The standard of hotels and vehicles were very good and the drivers excellent. Our guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our trip included lots of cultural experiences as well as the expected visits to the usual tourist sites. We enjoyed watching traditional dancing,boat trips, a massage, kayaking, karaoke, circus skills, puppet shows as well as several dinners with a show.
The food was excellent and Kea and Amara planned us an excellent itinerary. We had almost instant responses from them to any queries before our trip, and they ensured we knew of any changes of arrangements promptly. (One hotel had flooding &we were given an excellent replacement hotel with no stress for us at all) Our guides were sensitive to ensuring our visits to Temples etc were as crowd-free as was possible but allowed us plenty of time to absorb our surroundings/ museum exhibits and info etc.

We are two woman whose husbands want the security of us traveling with a competent driver and guide! And we felt like rock stars scooped up from the airport and they ensured every day would be the best experience for us. Kea put so much careful work in to our itinerary, but it was the driver and guide who pivoted the schedule to make the most of our time.
Somehow we dodged two big storms because of their conscientious attention to detail. Our guide saw many hikers slipped in the mud, so he rerouted us. He wanted us to see the Golden Hand Bridge in good weather so adjusted that schedule too. Every hotel was gorgeous and we felt like they were happy to see us. The guides spoke great English and really added so much knowledge and laughter to our tour. We felt so cared for and privileged to do this tour!
From start to finish this was an excellent experience. First time with a private and will certainly consider doing another. Everything thing was first class and as regular small group Travellers we can highly recommend Pheakdey and Kea and Indochina tours.
Indochina Tour designed our trip of 20 days to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Some days we had private tour guides ((they were the best and their English was very good) or we joined another tour for a day with a group of tourists. The guides and the drivers that took us to the airports, train station , cruise ship etc.. were always on time and very polite.
Our different advisors in the Head Quarters in Siem Reap and other locations, always answered our questions and solved any issues (e.g flooding in Hoi An as we needed to change the hotel).
