You do not have to rush from one famous city to the next on this 15-day route. Start in Bangkok, then travel north to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. There is time for temples, rescued elephants, mountain communities and the cooler landscapes around Doi Mae Salong and Doi Tung.
After Chiang Khong, cross into Laos at Huay Xai and spend two days travelling down the Mekong River, with a night in Pak Beng. It is a slower way to enter Laos, and far more memorable than another quick flight.

After breakfast, leave your hotel at about 7:30 am and travel to the Chiang Khong border checkpoint.
Our Thailand team will assist you with the departure process. Cross the Fourth Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge by shuttle bus and complete the entry formalities at Huay Xai in Laos.
After entering Laos, meet your local team and board the boat for the first day of your Mekong River cruise to Luang Prabang.
Lunch will be served on board as the boat travels downstream through the quiet scenery of northern Laos.
In the afternoon, stop at Ban Houa Phalam, a traditional Kamu village beside the Mekong. Walk through the community and learn about local farming, fishing and daily life.
Continue by boat to Pak Beng. After arriving in the late afternoon, transfer to your accommodation and enjoy dinner.

Our group of six (three couples in our late 50s and early 60s) recently spent 22 amazing days touring Vietnam, and Bliss & Kea from Indochina Tours did a fantastic job organising every detail.
They helped us customise a 14-day itinerary into a 22-day holiday by adding extra time in Hanoi, Sa Pa, Hoi An, Da Nang and Saigon, giving us the perfect balance of guided touring and free time. We also included a two-night, 5-star Lan Ha Bay cruise, which was one of the highlights of the trip. The scenery was spectacular, the staff were wonderful, and the food was outstanding.
From the moment we arrived, everything ran like clockwork. Every airport, train station and hotel transfer was organised perfectly, with friendly, knowledgeable guides waiting for us at each destination. Having different local guides in each region gave us a real insight into the history, culture and daily life of Vietnam.

This is our second time booking our Asia experience with Indochina. They provide exceptional service. From airport and hotel pickups, the comfortable transportation and the more than eager tour guide. The majority of the hotel were the 4 * that we wanted except the ones in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.
But because of the small village, we believe we received one of the best they could offer. The selection of restaurants to have lunch provided a local atmosphere conducive with living in the area. It provided a true Thailand experience. I will definitely continue to refer my clients and friends to Indochina tours.

The atmosphere in the old town areas throughout Vietnam are brilliant for just wandering. We travelled in June where crowds were very small apart from Ho Chi Min city and Ba Na Hills.
The staff we very informative and flexible if we wanted to stay longer than planned. Our tour would be best for couples, young or old.

Our 18‑day Cambodian journey with Indo China Tours was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, everything ran like a well‑oiled machine. The itinerary was perfectly balanced — guided temple tours, fascinating museums, and even an adrenaline‑pumping off‑road motorcycle adventure. Every detail was thought through, and every transition was seamless.
Accommodation throughout the trip was excellent, comfortable, and well‑chosen to match the vibe of each stop. What truly stood out, though, was the organisation and support from Miss Lance and Mrs Srey Pov. Their skills were exceptional — easy to contact, quick to respond, and always ready to smooth out any detail, no matter how small. Nothing was ever a problem, and their professionalism gave us the freedom to simply enjoy the adventure.

I found IndoChina through TourRadar and I am so thankful I did - I have been wanting to go to Asia for years, but I didn't know where to start with planning.
They allowed me to take a tour that I was 90% interested in and customize the last 10% to include activities that better fit my mother & my lifestyle & activity levels. Their tour guides were so professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive.
We did not book a private tour, but we ended up having mostly private guides in each city - there were only a few excursions where we joined a small group (Bangkok floating market & Hanoi overnight cruise to Ha Long Bay).
The activities they had slated for each day were great and allowed for some free time & exploration most evenings. I would most definitely book with IndoChina on my next trip to Asia (in a few years)!

The entire holiday was wonderful and exceeded our expectations.
All hotels were clean, spacious, and well serviced, with excellent amenities. The staff were excellent.
All of our guides spoke excellent English, were welcoming and professional, knew the history and stories of their respective countries, were helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us.
The highlight of the tour was the Shampoo River Cruise in Laos.

The 27-day tour was amazing, and we really enjoyed it.
We were pleased with the availability of Kea on WhatsApp, and she was always prompt to respond to any queries we had.
Our highlights were Northern Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangkok.
We had not done a private tour before, and having local guides gave us great insight into the culture, history, and daily life of each area.
We loved many of the guides, especially Thai in Hanoi, Vang in Sapa, Tommy in Halong Bay, Tok in Phnom Penh, Pasquale in Siem Reap, and Ket in Bangkok.

The best tour guide was Phuong in Ho Chi Minh City, such a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He even sent me a WhatsApp message asking if we had arrived home safely.
The Four Seasons Chiang Mai and Metropole Hanoi hotels were very special.

Luang Prabang was also great, and many things at Villa Maly Boutique were wonderful. The service was definitely one of them.
Vientiane was also great. The room was lovely, and Vientiane was a lovely city.
